Please allow me to take a moment to thank you for the excellent service performed at the Academy Theatre by The Roofer Ltd.  It was timely, workmanship was excellent and they were thorough when communicating with us about the status of the project which is why I was more than happy to write this letter of reference.

During 2017 our Church had a problem with a roof leak on our then eight year old roof. Four roofing contractors were contacted and made their recommendations and gave us written quotes. These quotes varied from approximately forty thousand for partial replacement to four thousand to repair the actual problem.

The actual contract was signed with “The Roofer” and the problem was solved.

Due to this honest approach we saved money and had good results and therefore would recommend their services to anyone in need of roof repair.

St. Paul’s Anglican Church has entered into several contracts with The Roofer business and Don Scott to correct and/or maintain both the roof of the church proper and the adjacent Rectory roof.

We have found that the work needed within these contracts have been completed both in a very timely manner and with excellent workmanship.

Mr. Scott has as well seen from the ground situations that needed to be repaied and advised the church wardens. This has resulted in timely repairs.

We would recommend this company to anyone who required these services.

Don Scott (The Roofer Ltd.) replaced our roof. His company was pleasant to deal with and efficient, completing the job on the date arranged. We have had no problems with the work performed.

Reitter Management Corporation has worked with The Roofer – Don & Dan Scott in particular – for over twenty years. During that time, Don and Dan have successfully handled every conceivable roofing job in our management portfolio including 150,000 sq ft flat roof contracts, asphalt shingles, inverted roofing, slate, fibreglass, general repairs, replacements, maintenance contracts, and leak tracing that had absolutely baffled some other contractors. Don’s customer service back in the day was second to none, and Dan’s customer service follows in the same footsteps today.

We still turn to The Roofer for most of our roofing needs because we get the quality of service and finished work that we expect for our money and for our client’s money.

Our experience with The Roofer in 2012 is in stark contrast to the previous reviews that date from 2010. We needed to get both our peaked and flat roofs repaired in the upper Beach. Our contact was Dan, not William. Dan came to us very highly recommended by a work colleague with excellent connections to the trades. We obtained five quotes in all, including 3 from Homestars-recommended firms and one firm from a neighbourhood sign. Everyone provide two quotes, one for the flat and one for the peaked roof. The prices for the peaked roof were +/- 10% from the median, but the quotes for the flat roof ranged wildly, with the highest being nearly 1.8x the lowest. The Roofer was competitive on both quotes. Dan was very responsive explaining what was needed and the differences in quality of the materials and worked with us to fit within our budget.

The crew arrived as expected bright and early on the pre-arranged start date and got to work. I’d not really understood some of the Homestars roofer reviews comments about clean-up until they started to strip the roof. Ahh! What an incredible mess! The crew were fast, efficient and unobtrusive. The wife’s mother cat-sat alone on the 2nd and 3rd days, felt very comfortable and reported that the workers did a very thorough clean-up before departing, something we confirmed on our return. Let me repeat this – the clean-up was excellent. Only one small spot was missed, and this they couldn’t see (a window sill ten feet up a wall).

The quality of the work appears top-notch, and the foreman came by and fixed the one area we questioned after we had inspected the job. Dan furthermore generously provided advice and guidance with some related questions we had after the work was done and they were paid – always a good sign. Dan was a pleasure to work with; communications were done largely by email, and response times were always good, matching my own response times.

All in all we had a very positive experience I have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending The Roofer.

Their work has definitely stood the test of time, from new roofs to gutter cleaning, from pigeon proofing and sheet metal work to large and small repairs. Their crews are fast and professional. We hired the Roofer Ltd because we wanted a company we could trust to do the best possible work and guarantee it. Too many ‘fly by night’ in the roofing category. The owner is supervising himself, on premise, and makes sure the work is done perfectly….leaving the area spotless !
